SHIGE BEYOND is a two volume hardcover set with a total of 664 pages. Volume one is full of spectacular photography of the artistry of Shige, captured by photographer John Agcaoili. The setting is the stunning Former Tomyoji Temple Hall, an Important Cultural Property of Japan, at Sankeien Gardens in Yokohama. The privilege to photograph at this solemn and beautiful location, a personal favorite of Shige's, required rigorous campaigning and the approval by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in Japan. The sacred beauty of this space creates the perfect atmosphere to document the dedication of Shige and of his clients. Volume two documents 16 years of Shige's tattoos, paintings, events and life! SHIGE BEYOND also features a curated selection of written pieces about Shige and his work. Much like his first book, SHIGE, this book will become an instant collector item and documents the life's work thus far of one of the most vibrant and influential tattoo artists on a global scale.

This first edition is limited and numbered. The quantity of the edition will be decided after the pre-order period, so anyone who places a pre-order is guaranteed a copy. Future editions of SHIGE BEYOND will be softcover and will not be numbered.

Pre-order period: August 7–17, 2026. Pre-order price is $250 USD plus applicable tax and shipping. Books are expected to be delivered in December. Retail price after the pre-order period will be $300 USD.

Shipping & Returns

All orders ship from our shop in San Jose, California. Domestic orders ship via USPS Priority Mail or UPS, with tracking sent as soon as your order is on its way.

Pre-order items: pre-orders ship separately when the books arrive. Please place pre-orders on their own — an order that combines a pre-order with other items can't calculate shipping correctly and will be canceled and asked to reorder separately.
